NHK 時代に『東海の技』コーナーを担当し、様々な職人を取材。
伝統工芸の素晴らしさやそこに込められた思いに感銘を受けるとともに、このままでは多くの伝統工芸が後継者不足のため失われてしまうと危機感を感じ職人の世界へ。
2010 年、取材を通じて出会った中川忠峰氏に弟子入りし、根付職人となる。

Kajiura Asuka:

Ise netsuke craftsman
Former anchor at NHK Nagoya and Tsu stations.
She is also the representative of the Tokai Women's Craftsmen's Group, "LINK".
She is also the representative of the Mie craftsmen's group, 'Tokowaka'.
During her time at NHK, she presented the 'Tokai no Waza' (Arts of Tokai) programme, which covered various craftspeople.
Impressed by the excellence of traditional crafts and the passion that goes into them, she recognised the need to act to prevent the loss of many traditional crafts due to a lack of successors.
In 2010, she became an apprentice to Tadamine Nakagawa, whom she met through an interview, and became a netsuke craftsman.
